Students will bring their lunch to the music room on the day of their audition.
Auditions are done by grade and will be held in the music room on the following dates:
1st Round TBA
Grade 5 - May @ 12:00 in the music room
Grade 4 - May @ 12:00 in the music room
Grade 3 - May @ 12:00 in the music room
Grade 2 - June @ 12:00 in the music room
Grade 1 - June @ 12:00 in the music room
Students who miss an audition time can make it up during music class or during an agreed time with Mr. Richardson.
2nd Round TBA
The second round is meant to determine whether the act is improving.
The following dates are tentative until all 1st round auditions are complete

Mattie McCullough Talent Show
Please note that the student performer will require two signatures to audition: one from a parent/guardian and one from a mentor who can confirm the act’s readiness. The mentor can be the parent/guardian who signed, a teacher, a coach, or an adult willing to mentor.

WHEN and WHERE??
- Talent show auditions will start around May 27 during lunch hours.
- The Talent Show is in the Mattie McCullough gym.
- The Talent Show will run from 8:30 a.m. until approximately 10:30 a.m.
WHO can perform in the show??
- Any Mattie student in Grade 1-5 can perform a solo or group piece.
- An adult accompanist or coach may assist in the act.
- In order to audition, acts must present the Talent Show Audition Form as well as the Checklist for Auditions sheet checked off by a mentor.
HOW are the acts selected??
- Performers must present a mentor approved live act to Mr. Richardson during a scheduled lunch hour.
- After the initial audition, acts must audition at least 2 more times.
- Performers who are unprepared after 3 auditions may not be selected.
- An act that is similar to another act may not be selected.
- Performances that are well put together and improving after three auditions will be asked to perform in the June 24th show.
- Performers must then attend any scheduled lunch hour rehearsals leading up to the performance.
Checklist for Auditions
1. There is no minimum time for performances, but maximum time is 3 minutes.
2. Music lyrics/words, dance moves and costumes must be appropriate for elementary children.
3. Due to safety concerns, acts using live animals, sports tricks with projectiles or gymnastics moves requiring flips will not be accepted.
4. No lip-sync acts are allowed. If your act requires music:

- Please provide accompaniment either live (instruments) or digitally.
- If required, the audio track (on CD or usb drive) or internet link (i.e. Youtube) must be provided to Mr. Richardson at the first audition or by email. If no music is provided, it will not be played.
